Received the PhD degree (Hons.) in electromagnetics from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and the Universidade de Lisboa (ULISBOA) in 2014, and the Higher Doctorate degree (HDR) from the Université de Rennes in 2023.

From 2014 to 2018, he was a Senior Research Fellow with the Institut d'Électronique et des Technologies du numéRique (IETR), University of Rennes 1, working mainly on biomedical applications of wireless power transfer systems. Since 2018, he has been an Associate Professor with the ESEO School of Engineering, Angers, France. He is also an Associate Researcher with IETR, UMR CNRS 6164. In 2024, he was promoted to Full Professor. He has published over 80 peer-reviewed scientific papers. His main research interests include domain of antennas, microwaves, EMC, and biomedical engineering.

Dr. Koohestani is an Official Member of AFNOR, the IEC standardization working group (WG2 and WG9) in the SC47A French subcommittee on the EMC for integrated circuits. He is a senior member of IEEE.
